ERCU Payment Card

"Easy Access to your Credit Union"

What is it?

No longer will you have to come to the office to make payments into your account.  You can now pay into your account at any Post Office or anywhere you see the PayPoint sign.

How much does it cost?

The Credit Union is making no charge for the use of the card.  If you need a replacement card then it will cost £1, this is to cover the costs attached with re-issuing a card.

How does it work?

Using the card is easy.  Simply walk in, hand over your card to the cashier with your money and you will be issued with a receipt.  The receipt is guaranteed by the Co-operative Bank and acts as proof of payment.

What about my Credit Union account?

Neither the Post Office nor the PayPoint outlet can answer any questions.  Your receipt will not show any of your balances.   Remember that the system is one-way, that is, money can only be paid in and no information can be taken out.  That means your confidentiality is maintained.

How much can I pay in?

There is no maximum amount you can pay-in using your card but we would ask that you pay in a minimum of £10.

What happens to the money and how is it split?

ERCU Payment Card transactions are moved electronically to your Credit Union account within 4 working days.  Unless you tell us otherwise, we will split payments in the following way – 90% to loan and 10% to shares.  If you do not have any loan outstanding, all payments will go to shares.

What about the Credit Union office?

The ERCU Payment Card is a new method of paying into your Credit Union. The Payment card provides a very flexible service enabling you to pay in at thousands of locations across the country.  If you do not wish to use it, the office will still be open on the same days and at the same times, staffed by the same people.
